Time Warner Cable To Showcase Private School Sports Tournaments, On Demand

Wilmington, NC – Time Warner Cable digital customers can watch even more local high school sports on Demand.   Time Warner Cable is now the Official Corporate Sponsor of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) and the Official Television Sponsor of the NCISAA.   With this new partnership, Time Warner Cable has exclusive broadcast rights to NCISAA Championship Events on Carolina On Demand, channel 1234.

Local Cape Fear Region schools which belong to NCISAA include; Cape Fear Academy – Wilmington, Harrells Christian Academy – Harrells, Waccamaw Academy – Whiteville.

“Time Warner Cable’s coverage of North Carolina High School sports on Carolina on Demand has been a huge hit with people across the state,” says Brian Kelly, president of residential services, Time Warner Cable Carolina Region.  “Now, we’re proud to partner with the state’s independent schools, so that our coverage will include both public and independent high school sports.”

Already this school year, Carolina On Demand produced and aired high school football games and plans to produce and carry the NCISAA Basketball Championships beginning in late February.  The six games include three men and three women match ups. Carolina On Demand will also produce football in the fall of 2010.

“This partnership with Time Warner Cable is a wonderful opportunity to showcase to the general public the values of our association: sportsmanship, integrity and fair play,” says Chuck Carter, executive director, NCISAA.  “By offering these games on Carolina On Demand, it enhances the experience for those who can’t make it to the games themselves.”

The sponsorship with Time Warner Cable has also helped the NCISAA create its NCISAA Hall of Fame.  An inaugural celebration is slated for the end of February in Winston-Salem.
