This exciting two-day event is packed with exhibitors, classes, demonstrations, an interactive kid’s area, plants, herbs, door prizes, food, and much more. 2nd Annual Brunswick Stew Cook-Off A Success
The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce announced today a happy and successful second annual Brunswick Stew Cook-Off at Rourk Woods, in Shallotte this past weekend. President of the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, Cathy Altman, said “we’re quite pleased with the turnout considering we had to change the event date due to weather conditions and the weather still didn’t cooperate! One attendee posted the following on her facebook page-‘if you didn’t go out- you missed what being a citizen in a small town is all about- thanks Brunswick County Chamber for putting this together!!’”

Shallotte, NC – The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and Rourk Woods invite you to keep warm this January with a cup of Brunswick Stew! The 2nd Annual Brunswick Stew Cook-off will kickoff January 30th 10:00am-4:00pm at Rourk Woods in Shallotte. This event is perfect for the entire family and will feature Brunswick stew tastings, a kid’s area, a beer garden, live music by Jaded Mayberry, local crafters, super bowl party giveaway, food vendors and much more!
Young Professionals of Brunswick County Network and Have Fun
Brunswick County, NC – As the young population (ages 21-39) in Brunswick County continues to increase, as does the new organization YPN – or you may also have heard it called “Young Professionals, Young Pros, YP’s”, etc. This is a dynamic group of young individuals in the county that enjoy both their profession and networking with people their age. The group started in August 2007 and since then has gone from quarterly meetings to meeting two times a month! After all, the future leaders of Brunswick County have a lot to talk about! Each meeting has a different focus – from leadership, networking, social media, health and fitness, to managing employees – young professionals are sure to be intrigued at the meetings.

The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking all chefs in the area! We want YOU to compete in the newest & tastiest tradition in Brunswick County – the Brunswick Stew Cook-Off! There are five different categories that you or your company can choose from: Business, Individual, Nonprofit, Restaurant, and Media. For those who would rather join in on tasting all these delicious stews instead of cooking we would love for you to be a part of this event as well! The Brunswick Stew Cook-Off will be held at Rourk Woods in Shallotte on Saturday, January 30th 10:00am until 4:00pm. At the event you will find tasty Brunswick Stew, local crafters, kid’s area, live entertainment by Jaded Mayberry, beer garden, and delicious foods such as barbeque, chicken, ribs, hamburgers, fries, corn, and much more! ATMC Presents Service Awards
Shallotte, NC – ATMC recently honored its staff and board of directors at the cooperative’s 33rd Annual Service Awards Banquet. Approximately 260 guests attended the event, held at the Carolina Ballroom, Sea Trail Golf Resort & Conference Center.
Allen Russ, CEO/General Manager, and Lyle Ray King, Board President, presented the awards. Malcolm Grissett was honored for 40 years of service. This is the first 40-year service award ever presented by ATMC. Mr. Grissett retired from ATMC in 1999 and then re-joined ATMC as a director in 2001.
