Atlantic Natural Foods to Donate 75,000 Meals to Food Banks throughout the U.S.: Nashville, N.C.-based Atlantic Natural Foods, LLC (ANF), which describes itself as “the leading shelf-stable, plant-based manufacturer of award-winning Loma Linda® and TUNO™ brand foods,” is kicking off a nationwide effort to help deliver relief for hungry families in need, starting today with 25,000 meals to be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern N.C. in Raleigh, N.C. From the announcement release: “With an estimated 65 million Americans living in food insecure homes in the U.S. and seeking to avoid going hungry this winter season, the plant-based food manufacturer is joining fellow food companies and other organizations and individuals throughout the country who are responding to the hunger plight with in-kind donations.”

Raven Advisory Purchases Gryphon Group: Raven Advisory LLC, recently announced the purchase of Gryphon Group LLC, located in Maxton, North Carolina, adjacent to the Laurinburg/Maxton Airport. According to its website, Raven Advisory is “comprised of over 50 hand-picked mature specialized personnel having more than 60 years combined experience in Special Forces, Special Mission Units, SEAL’s, Ground Branch, and the CIA” who “maintain active Top Secret and Secret security clearances (some SCI and Poly) along with professional relationships in multiple regions around the world.” The website adds that Raven Advisory performs sub-contract work in support of the U.S. Military and are teamed with other companies pursuing opportunities with the U.S. Government. 

Honeywell’s New, Reusable, Dual-Layer Face Cover Offers Everyday Protection and Comfort: Charlotte-based Honeywell recently announced a new reusable, three-dimensional knitted face cover with replaceable filters for everyday use. According to a press release, the Honeywell Dual-Layer Face Cover incorporates Honeywell’s decades of expertise producing respiratory-protection products. The release adds that the new face covering features an innovative 3D knit design that contours to the wearer’s face and is made with a washable material, making it easy to clean. The face cover also has a hidden pocket that securely holds a Honeywell protective filter made with melt-blown polypropylene, which is similar to the material used in the construction of N95s masks.1 The replaceable filter can block up to 97% of 3.0-micron-sized particles (BFE) and 0.1-micron-sized particles (PFE). 2

FMI Advises Donley’s Inc. in the Sale of its Construction Management Business to DiGeronimo Companies: Raleigh-based FMI Capital Advisors, an investment banking firm dedicated to construction, engineering and other sectors of the built environment, recently announced the acquisition of Donley’s, Inc.’s Construction Management Business (“Donley’s”) by DiGeronimo Companies (“DiGeronimo”). The company, to be known as Donley’s IC as part of Independence Construction, expands DiGeronimo’s capacity and diversifies its portfolio by creating one of the largest and most capable CM businesses in Northeast Ohio. FMI Capital Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to Donley’s Inc. for this transaction, which closed on October 1, 2020.

First National Realty Partners Completes Acquisition Of The High Point Shopping Center: First National Realty Partners (FNRP) recently announced the acquisition of a Harris Teeter anchored neighborhood shopping center located at 265 & 271 Eastchester Drive in High Point, North Carolina.  According to a press release, the market around the High Point Center is rapidly growing and the property is located at a highly-trafficked intersection in the heart of High Point’s retail corridor.  The property adds a secure and stable income stream to FNRP’s growing portfolio of premier real estate assets throughout the United States and marks First National Realty Partners’ first tenant partnership with Kroger’s subsidiary Harris Teeter.

Insteel Industries Announces First Quarter 2021 Conference Call: Mount Airy-based Insteel Industries, Inc. (NasdaqGS: IIIN) recently announced that its first quarter 2021 earnings conference call will be webcast live over the internet on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. ET following the release of the Company’s first quarter financial results at 6:30 a.m. ET on that same day. Triangle Orthopaedics Surgery Center Achieves AAAHC Advanced Orthopaedic Certification: Triangle Orthopaedics Surgery Center recently announced the achievement of  AAAHC Advanced Orthopaedic Certification by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Certification involves a three-year specialty program focused on patient outcomes, built on accreditation requirements. Status as an organization that has earned certification means Triangle Orthopaedics Surgery Center has met the highest level of nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC.

Construction Partners, Inc. Completes North Carolina Acquisition: Construction Partners, Inc., a vertically integrated civil infrastructure company specializing in the construction and maintenance of roadways across five southeastern states, recently announced that it has acquired R.P.C. Contracting, Inc., an asphalt and paving contractor based in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The transaction adds two hot-mix asphalt plants to the Company’s North Carolina footprint. “Today’s transaction adds two dynamic markets in northeastern North Carolina, including the Outer Banks, and extends the geographic territory we added in our recent acquisition of Rose Brothers Paving Company,” said Fred J. (Jule) Smith, III, Chief Operating Officer of Construction Partners.

Richmond Dental and Medical Introduces Reusable Level 1 Isolation Gowns: In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Richmond has unveiled a reusable isolation gown to meet demands for personal protective equipment (PPE). The gown fabric, a 65/35% polyester/cotton blend, is made in the USA (cut/sewn in Mexico or Nicaragua).  This reusable AAMI PB70 Barrier Protection Level 1 Isolation gown has been authorized by the FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for use as PPE in healthcare settings.

Tim Little, P.E. joins Michael Baker International: Michael Baker International recently announced that Tim Little, P.E., has joined the firm as Regional Practice Lead – Transportation for its Mid-Atlantic Region. According to a press release, Little will be critical in advancing Michael Baker’s position as an industry leader as he focuses on extensive client outreach and developing and securing business opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Prior to joining Michael Baker, Little spent more than 30 years as an engineer with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). He most recently served as Chief Engineer for NCDOT, where he oversaw the design, construction and maintenance of 80,000 miles of roadway in the state’s 14 Divisions.
