Hamilton leaving Cooper’s cabinet: Wilmington’s Susi Hamilton will be leaving Governor Roy Cooper’s cabinet, where she serves as Secretary of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, at the end of the year. Hamilton said she had future plans in mind, but didn’t share exactly what they are: “At this time in my career, I feel called to specifically refocus my energy and my efforts to help expand opportunity in eastern North Carolina and make the region stronger and more resilient. Plans are in process for my next endeavor and I’m excited about this new opportunity. I’ll have more information to share in the next few weeks when they are finalized.”
Dosher Appoints Cynthia Ricks as Health Information Management Coordinator, Medical Auditor: Dosher Memorial Hospital staff member Cynthia Ricks was recently promoted to the position of Health Information Management Coordinator/ Medical Auditor. Ricks is a Southport native graduate of both South Brunswick High School and Brunswick Community College, where she earned an Associates degree as well as a diploma in Health Information Management. She also holds a state certification as a RHIT (Registered Health Information Technologist). Ricks began her tenure at Dosher in 2004.
New provider joins Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine & Convenient Care: Tiffany “Hope” Tyson, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, joined Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine & Convenient Care in Shallotte in November. Tyson earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and Master of Science in Nursing Education degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She completed the Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
