Wilmington, N.C. — Kim Hufham, President/CEO of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority (TDA), announced the 2021 appointments and officers to serve on the TDA Board of Directors. Appointments to the TDA Board are made by the New Hanover County Commissioners. Officers were elected at the TDA regular board meeting, held on March 30, 2021.

2021 Appointments to the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority Board of Directors:

New Hanover County Commissioner Deb Hays has been appointed to serve on the TDA Board as the New Hanover County Commissioner representative.

Mary Baggett, owner of Blockade Runner Resort, was appointed to represent Wrightsville Beach Hotels.

Jason Spencer Bryant, general manager of Bryant Real Estate, was reappointed to represent Vacation Rental Properties.

Michael (Hap) Fatzinger, director of the N.C. Aquarium at Fort Fisher, was appointed to represent New Hanover County Attractions.

Nicole Jones, general manager of Hilton Garden Inn, was reappointed to represent Wilmington Hotels (less than 150 rooms).

Daniel Perkins, assistant general manager of Hotel Ballast, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, was reappointed to represent Wilmington Hotels (greater than 150 rooms).

Tom Ullring, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach Boardwalk, was appointed to represent Carolina Beach Hotels.

2021 Officers of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority Board of Directors:

Jason Spencer Bryant, general manager of Bryant Real Estate, was elected to serve as Board Chair.

Nicole Jones, general manager of Hilton Garden Inn, was elected to serve as Board Vice-Chair.

Angela Rhodes, co-owner of Catch Modern Seafood Cuisine, was reelected to serve as Board Secretary.

Lisa Wurtzbacher, New Hanover County Finance Officer, will serve as Treasurer of the authority as directed by the enabling legislation (HB 1707).

Daniel Perkins, assistant general manager of the Hotel Ballast Tapestry Collection by Hilton, recently completed his second term as Board Chair and will serve on the executive board as immediate past chair.
